Primary Key

I have a Department Table.

Can any one tell me its Primary Key.

I have the order

AutoNumber, D + AutoNumber, Code,

Can you help me regarding this.

Because some people never like to use AutoNumber.

That's why I am confused.

Common way to choose AutoNumber.

But some people do not prefer AutoNumber.

Do you suggest it or not?

You're right, there is a school of thought which does not approve of using autonumber to generate the primary field on a table. I have in the past used Autonumbers and have never had any problems with them when used as a key field.

As long as the key field doesn't have any relationship to the data within the record (other than to uniquely identify it) then it will be alright.
