Print Error in RS2005

Hi All
I have 2 questions regarding the printing of the report.
1) I have an asp.net apps in which there are some links which point to
the report.when comming to the printing of the report only one user
facing the problem while printing the report from the print button icon
from the report.he is getting eror "an error occurred during
printing(0X8007F304)"
He is using other application which contain reports and he can able to
print the report from same print button.
I did search on google for this particular error and in one forum they
said to do this
1. Closed all instance of Internet Explorer.
2. Opened Windows Explorer and went to C:\Windows\Downloaded Program
Files\
3. Right clicked on RSClientPrintClass and chose "Remove"
4. Went to my Reporting Services report and tried to print
5. Said "Install" when prompted to install the Reporting Services Print
Control
6. Printing commenced!
Am i supposed to do it on the server or else on the user PC (Kind of a
dumb question)
2) whats the purpose of the percertange box in the tool bar.is it
useful for the viewing the report by decreasing or printing the report
on a decreased percentage view.I thought by decreasing the
precentage, report size also decreases as it does if we decrease the
percentage and print it from the file menu options.
Thanks
vkvHi ,
Some new problem came in to picture.I did the same thing
removing the rsprintclientcalss and installed activex it worked for the
reports that are on th rs2005.
But the application that contains reports which are on rs2000 getting
an error as "An error occured during printing. (0x80004005).
Does rs2005 print activex should work for 2000?.Are there any options
like both the versions activex controls are downloaded so that both the
versions printing works.
Thanks

Print data from an ASP.NET ReportViewer that contains multiple pages from FireFox?

Hi,

I have this application in which I am using a number of reports containing one or more pages. When using IE as explorer, the printing button is be?ng displayed properly. When clicking that button, everything works as it should. But when using Firefox as browser, the print button doesn't show up. So I thought about going to the menu of the browser and choose File > Print. The result looks just like a printscreen and when the report contains multiple pages, I am not able to print them in a decent way.

On the internet I read the main reason for this is that Firefox does not work with ActiveX-Objects. In this way it would not be possible to print out the pages!

Can anyone help me out?

Thx a lot!

Recloose!

Anyone?

Print control stops working

I have a few reports that suddenly stopped printing.

Nothing changed on the report server, and one minute they could print, the other they couldn't

I have one report that is 4 pages in preview and six when it prints. The users press the print control on the web page and the print dialog comes up, they select a printer and the printing messagebox comes up. Then it will print a couple of pages VERY SLOWLY... and eventually will hang at the 3rd page.

IT appears it is just spooling in the printer control viewer...

Other similiar reports that use the same query but a different parameter, work just fine.

I have rebuilt and redployed the report. The problem is happening on both my live and test environments.

I have looked through this forum but not found an answer. I did delete and re-isntall the client print control.

I have turned the client logging on. But no errrors show up anywhere.

I am running ssrs 2005 on both machines. test machine has win2003 sp1 , sql 2005 sp2 AND hotfix's

live machine has win2003 and sql 2000 latest sp.

I need help!

TIA

Does anyone have a clue as to why this is happening?

I have seen this problem posed as different quesitons all over the place, but, no answers.

Print Control

Hi guys
The Print control - printing directly from the Report Manager - have a
default setting. Is there a way to change this default setting'
Our problem is that the default is 5*8 letter format whereas here we use A4
format. Preferable it would pickup the report format in regards to portrait
or landscape.
Thanks.
Regards
JonasIt should pick this up. Check and see what your page layout size is.

<PageHeight>29.7cm</PageHeight>
<PageWidth>42cm</PageWidth>
Which matches A3 landscape but ends up as 8,5 by 11". This report does have
page header and footer does that matter?
I must admit that it does pickup A3 & A4 formats on some other reports.
Thanks.

there is anything different between the reports that work and those that
doesn't.

Print Barcodes with the Active X print control

We are having problems printing Reports (when printing by clicking on the AcitiveX print control), where the font for the fields are set to "C39HrP24DhTt" (barcode).

While viewing the report it displays as Barcodes but while printing, the Barcode does not get printed, but the string gets printed.

Environment: SSRS 2005

Using the ReportViewer Control in a .Net 2.0 Web App to render the reports.

BarCodes print fine in the following situations:

1. When the Report is exported to Excel and when printed from there

2. When you click on the print button on Internet Explorer

3. When saving as html (from view source) and opening that html document and printing.

BarCodes do NOT get printed in the following situation:

1. When printing by clicking on the "Print" (Active X Control) icon. Even the "Print Preview" does not show the Barcode.

We figured the problem. Here is the solution.

Unlike other printing which happens on the client side, with the Active X print control provided with SSRS, it creates an image of what needs to be printed on the server side and then issues the print command, and the processed image is sent from the client side. So, for the special fonts like barcode to work correctly we have to have it on the client machine (for viewing) and also on the report servers (for printing through the active X print control) .

1. Install the font on the Reporting Services machine using the following steps:

a. Open the C:\winnt\fonts folder directly on the machine. (Do not use a file share to do this operation)

b. Drag and drop the font you want to install into this folder.

c. Do an IISRESET from a command prompt to make sure the font will get loaded correctly when a user views a report.
