Print Error messge

Hi,

When iam trying to print the report from the application i.e winforms application, at the first time it is displaying the Security waring(pop up message)

Do you want to install the software?

Name:Microssoft Sqlserver

Publisher:Microsoft

with Install and don't install buttons.

Once we install , from the next time printing it is not displaying this error message.

Whether it is of IE version Problem.

Thanks in advance.

What you are seeing is not an error message, but a security warning asking whether you really want to install the print control software. The printing functionality is provided by an ActiveX control, and is not built into the browser. Once it is installed on a machine, it is not necessary to install the control again (unless there is an update to the control), which is why you do not see the message again.

print active x question

WE have locked down our security so that no active x controls can run for our
end users. Is there a way to integrate the installing of the print active x
control into the startup script? Or does it have to be installed using direct
from the report manager?
We have looked at the cab file but cant find the installation path for this
control once it is run.
Help would be greatly appreciated.I guess it depends on how you locked down IE. If they can not run activeX
controls period then there is not much you can do, if they just can't
download them then you can manually install them as I describe below.
The client print control is just a COM object. You could extract the
contents and run regsvr32 on the rsclientprint.dll. There are a couple of
issues you need to be aware of though:
1) make sure all the additional files are located in the same folder as the
rsclientprint.dll
2) If we ever update the control you will need to make sure to update the
control in your script or the control may not work correctly.

Explorer and view objects you actually see the RSClientPrint Class and can
remove it? Seems there must be way. Tx.

You could probably copy the files to the Downloaded Program Files directory
and register them there, but I am not positive that would make them show up.

ActiveX controls. I have searched in vain trying to find a work around
installation. I have tried to copy the files in the .cab to the
"C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files" and register the dll using regsvr32.
However, I am still recieving an error (8007F304), when trying to print.
I have been unable to find any description of the error on the web. When I
debug, I see the error is caused by a call to the print method of the
rsclientprint object...

Preventing [sa ] to login via Query analyzer [SQL Server 2005]

I am implementing the security and add different windows domain group and also assign then appropriate rights and permission.

No i want that if some knows the "sa" password and want to connect to sql server 2005 via query analyzer then message should display to user that u can not login with sa login while using SQL Server Query analyzer.

How i can identify and can display the message?

Thanks a lot in advance.

I don't think you can block sa access only for query analyser. The identity of the application connecting to SQL Server is spoofable so it really can't be trusted.

If you want to prevent the sa from accessing at all you can disable it with

ALTER LOGIN sa disable

and this will prevent sa from connecting.
